We Love Fishing!

March 12, 2010 (catching up!)
Okay, so maybe we don't all love fishing...maybe it is just Daddy! We do love spending time at Roosevelt Lake with the Coles and eating fish though!
Reagan and Travis got to hang out 2 days at the lake with Grandma and Granddad and Uncle Levi and Bruce, Tanya, and Kaela while Mom and Dad worked. Dad was excited to go a day early and drop them off so he could get in on the fishing...which was actually really good! Daddy caught a few fish and we even all took a boat ride with Levi. The kids were bored quick...as was Mom.

This face says it all!

Daddy--mighty fisherman!

Reagan got dared to kiss her fish--and of course she did it! Silly girl!

" Check it out it's teeth Mom!"

Uncle Levi is a good fisherman, too!

"When will we catch one????"

"I think this is fun!"

All in all--a great time was had. Daddy learned more about being a fisherman. Mom learned to be more patient. And the kids enjoyed fishing, boating, and getting dirty!

Missing Travis

I can honestly admit there are days I long for silence....no one crying, no whining, and no yelling. A few of those days came last week as Travis spent 2.5 days with my parents at the lake. My wish had come true--with Reagan at school, my house was quiet. I was excited to have time for myself...to run anytime I felt like, to go to town alone, to just be able to talk to Jason without any interruptions. But it was lonely! I missed my Travis! I missed him following me around the house, poking me when I do my hair, all the "stories" he tells me, and most of all I missed his hugs and kisses! (My boy is a sweetie and loves his Mommy!)
It was a nice break--I helped me to realize how lucky I am to have this little guy. It made me appreciate being a mom...and him being a toddler and with me all the time! I used to think I couldn't wait till he went to school--but I changed my mind...I don't want him to ever grow up!

Cute Cousins

On Alexis's blessing day, my sister-in-laws/inspiring photographers wanted to do a cousin photo shoot. The pics turned out crazy--just like the cousins! It is hard to get so many little ones all even looking the same direction! But-- the pics are precious just the same!
Cute Cousins!

Don't ya love the girls' pose? It was like this in ton of pics! Too funny!

"Done with pics don't ya know Mom?!"
"Don't ya know I'd rather be riding Papa's tractors?!"

Ps--Can't wait to see the "official" pics from the photographers--they can do amazing things!

Headline Reads: Runner Causes Accident....and 10K

When we got back from California, I expected the headline to read: Local Runner Causes Accident. Luckily, I never saw this in print....but the story is a bit insane and comical so think I should at least "cover" it on here!
The day before leaving for CA, I was out for a run. It was later in the day as I had gotten Kaela down for a nap and Travis was hanging out with his Dad in the shop. I decided to opt for my 6mile town loop-- which means I run down 20th Street in Safford. As I ran in front of the clinics, a large work truck pulled out really far, blocking my route on the side walk. No big deal...it happens tons, so I just kept jogging along. The young man inside must have felt bad when he saw me coming, so he decided to do the considerate thing and make room for me by backing up. Big mistake! He backed up straight into a sporty black Nissian that was behind him! I tried to yell and I waved my arms as I could see this was going to happen, but he didn't notice and CRUNCH! I felt terrible and was in shock. By the time I made it to the wreck, the man was out of the truck assessing the damage as was the woman in the smashed car. I yelled, "I'm so sorry...I tried to tell you there was someone behind you!" and kept running. Like I said, I felt terrible and was in shock! By the time I made it a block up the street, I got my head on straight and thought I should have stopped....or go back....but then, I talked myself out of it. What if the young man was mad at the stupid runner who caused the accident?! And they were both out of their vehicles and appeared fine and they were right in front of the hospital in Dr. Wright's parking lot! I ran home and told Jason the story. He laughed....I did too, but I still feel bad for causing a wreck...and for not staying to help out!
My running is not always so exciting! In fact, Saturday I ran in the Hospital's 10K Health Fair Fun Run. It was not exciting....just cold and windy and only about 25 participants. My goal was just to do it in under an hour which meant I needed to shave off 8 or so minutes off the time I ran my last 10K in. I made it...barely with a time of 59:50! Yeah for me! Not bad for being lazy (I hate getting up early) and not running very often any more!
